90 credits pre-business curriculum, typically completed during freshman and sophomore years. Read MoreIt is strongly advised that students finish as much general university coursework as possible in the first two years. A full list of general education requirements, see the university catalog17 upper-level business courses including sports business concentration courses24 credits from an interrelated set of courses, outside of business, that relate to your career interests. Completion of a minor will automatically fulfill this requirement, as will two years of college-level foreign language. Internships are greatly encouraged and the college's Career Services team can help you find and pursue an internship that will get you hands-on experience and help you make invaluable industry connects. Undergraduates have multiple opportunities for domestic and international study tour opportunities across the degree, including through the student-run Warsaw Sports Business Club and faculty-led summer study abroad. Past study tour locations have included Portland, Amsterdam, Boston, and Germany. Students are supported on their career journey through connect to the Warsaw Center's alumni network as well as the college's Career Services team, dedicated just to business students.

Planning and executing a marketing brief to manage an organization’s marketing functions and resources. The relationship development and management between a company and a sports team/league/federation. Planning and executing an event to help reach a target audience through direct interaction with that consumer.The development and management of sponsorship contracts to meet the needs of the sponsor and the organization. Relationship management between a client/account and an organization to ensure client needs are met.A marketing function that looks at how a brand is positioned in the market and how to best connect with the target consumer.Planning an organization’s strategic business goals for the short and long term. The initiation, planning, and support of a particular goal or project. Game-Changing Internships

Each summer students are encouraged to get internship experience to develop their skills and build their resumes. The Warsaw Sports Marketing Center has a tradition of internship positions at numerous leading sports companies, including ESPN, Wasserman, Portland Trail Blazers, Nike, Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco Giants, adidas, the NBA, and more. Students must secure their own internships but are supported in doing so by the Warsaw Sports Marketing Center, the Lundquist College of Business’s Career Services Office, and program alumni.

Domestic and International Study Tours

Undergraduate business students have the opportunity to join domestic and international study tours. Portland and Boston are regular domestic stops. In past visits to Portland stops have been made at Nike, adidas, Wieden & Kennedy, the Portland Trail Blazers, the Portland Timbers, On Running, IDL Worldwide, and more. In Boston, students have visited The Boston Celtics, New Balance, Fenway Sports Management, the Boston Athletic Association, the New England Revolution, Major League Lacrosse, and more.

Warsaw Sports Business Club

Gain insight, experiences, and opportunities in the field of sports business by joining the Warsaw Sports Business Club. It’s open to all UO undergraduate students and gives students access to sports industry guest speakers, study tours, experiential learning, networking, student-run events, and other special events. The WSBC is a student affiliation club with an elected student executive board, and mentored by Josh Gordon giving students various leadership opportunities. Meetings are held biweekly, and it’s just $75 for a one year membership.
